Susie Varner is a western artist with a flair for fun and humor in her work. She gets many of her ideas and subjects while riding her Quarter Horse with husband and friends on trails or checking cows. Susie attended West Texas State University Fine Art Program and is a published illustrator of TW Parnell Postal Exam books. She considers herself a self-taught artist and feels blessed to have been given this talent. She is a lover of horses and art as long as she can remember and wants to convey the emotions that both of these evoke within her. After a several year hiatus, she recently started painting again and her mediums of choice are acrylics, oils, pen and ink but also uses watercolor, graphite, wool art and recently started calligraphy, digital art & acrylic pouring.
