What is ArtReach?

ArtReach was developed several years ago by the Rockwall Art
League (RAL) as a community out-reach program. A few RAL
members met with the MHMR director in Royse City. From
that first meeting, the project came to life teaching art to
individuals with developmental disabilities who were enrolled in
a day program in Rockwall County.

The project began with 10 students (adults 22-55). Now, in a
new facility on Airport Road in Rockwall, there are
approximately 25 students receiving art services the
third Monday of the month.

The students’ art work is exhibited several times a year
including at the Rockwall County Library, the RAL Annual Fine Arts Fall Show in September, and other events.

The students are helpful, caring, and appreciative. They really enjoy the art
activities, and love to see their art exhibited in the community.
