Born in 1956 and raised in Michigan, Lauren received her BS in Psychology, Magna cum Laude from Wayne State University in 1996. She was also a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Post divorce, she worked in Sleep Research and Ophthalmology Research for half a dozen years, then Commercial insurance.
In 2010, Lauren switched gears and after Life and Teacher Training in Michigan, became a Chair Yoga Teacher. She said "Meeting Mike Cazabon again 40 years after high school was the best thing that ever happened to me (save the births of my two children). We married in 2012, and I came to live in Heath, Texas."
As a teen, she was very much into sewing her own clothes, embroidery, knitting, crocheting and creating handmade quilts.
Lauren started painting watercolors 25 years ago, but have had no formal training except a variety of workshops taken over the last 10-20 years. She loves working with encaustic wax, and also use acrylics. Sketching in the Galleries at the Detroit Institute of Arts was a favorite pastime before she moved to Texas.
