Donna Myers developed a love of nature, animals, and country landscapes at an early age growing up with four siblings on a rural Texas dairy farm. As a child Donna admired her grandmother's skill at quilting and her mother's beautiful music on the piano.
She raised two wonderful daughter and worked for a city municipality for 25 years before retiring. As an avid quilter, she learned elements of color, design, and form while working with fabrics before pursuing fine art. For the past 22 years she has dedicated much of her time to learn all she could about art. This includes attending numerous workshops, seminars, as well as reading many books on all phases of art. She has also participated in festivals and art shows over the years; selling paintings and receiving purchase awards at many shows.
She paints all subject matters in watercolor, pastel, and acrylic and tries to capture a piece of the world around her. In the fall of 2017, she opened Friends Fine Art, a gallery/studio in Celeste, Texas with her business partner Betty Smith. The gallery allows them to showcase their work, as well as providing studio space. This allows them to conduct workshops and classes and offers other artists to show their work. She sees this as an opportunity to share her passion with other and believes that art is a continual learning process that provides joy and challenges every day.
