About the event
In this hands-on workshop, students will design a custom wool cover for a composition notebook using a traditional technique called wet felting. Using only three materials, water, wool, and soap, you will design and build a seamless piece of felt fabric that is shaped and finished into a functional journal cover.
The focus of this workshop is on creating bold, graphic surfaces using techniques inspired by cheetah print, zebra stripes, and color blocking. Students will learn how to layer and arrange wool to create strong visual patterns before felting their design into a durable, usable 9"x14" Wool Journal Cover.
The finished piece is perfect for daily journaling, sketching, and collecting notes, photos, and scrappy memories. No prior felting experience is necessary.
Supply List:
All materials needed for the project will be provided.
Because this craft involves water and soap, participants are kindly asked to bring two old, full-sized towels.
