Deborah Stenberg is a studio artist living and working in Dallas, Texas. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Arts from Northeastern State University of Oklahoma in Tahlequah and completed her MFA at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. She pursued her career across the United States, moving with her Coast Guard husband and four children before finally settling in the Dallas Area.
She has been a member of the fine arts faculty at the University of Alaska Anchorage-Kodiak College Campus since 2007 and has developed various distance learning curricula to deliver top quality fine arts education to University of Alaska students living in remote Alaska villages without access to college campuses or even road systems. She also has an appointment as an assistant professor of fine arts at Brookhaven College School of the Arts in Farmers Branch, Texas. One of her greatest joys is introducing students to art and watching them tap into their own creativity.
Deborah’s art projects have been featured in many magazines, and she has authored 5 books with her painting projects. Deborah enjoys all aspects of art but devotes most of her effort to painting and drawing. She enjoys painting people and capturing their emotions on her canvas. She also loves the beauty of still life painting, telling stories with just a few items captured in time and space. She describes herself primarily as a contemporary realist painter, but uses an eclectic selection of media in her art.
