Member Spotlight: Alisa S. Fulghum

Alisa has been creating art for as long as she can remember and at the age of ten, won her first art competition. Her desire to create art was rivaled only by her love of nature and bringing them together became her passion. It has fostered in her the desire to capture the beauty and complexity of the organic and biomorphic. She is especially drawn to images of animals, and due to her love of horses, they have become a favorite source of inspiration!

Her education includes instruction at the Savannah College of Art and Design, Gulf Coast College and the University of Alaska Anchorage where she completed her Bachelor of Fine Art degree. Her mediums of choice are drawing in graphite and colored pencil and painting in acrylic and oil. She also enjoys working in mixed mediums when the subject matter seems to call for it. She does not consider her education complete, but continually strives to learn and improve her skills as an artist. Alisa has participated in many juried and judged shows, winning multiple awards. She has had solo exhibitions and has worked with clients on numerous

private commissions. Examples of her current work can be found on her website, www.asfulghumfineart.com and www.facebook.com/ASFulghumFineArt.

For Alisa, the term Artist is not a description of what she does, but who she is. She considers one of her greatest accomplishments to be creating artwork that people connect with on a deep and personal level.
