About The Event
On May 22, Cindy Fritz will demonstrate a night scene in watercolor. Cindy Fritz has been drawing since she was a toddler. A graduate of Grinnell College with a B.A. in art, she also earned a K-12 art teaching credential in Iowa. She has been a teacher in Christian schools and homeschool , and currently teaches weekly art classes to children and one class to adults. She studied watercolor under Naomi Brotherton. Pastel and watercolor are her favorite media, and nature at peace is her main subject, including landscape, flowers, animals, and buildings in landscape. She is particularly interested in painting water and reflections. Cindy is a member of Texas Area Artists, and is a founder and former visual arts director of Forney Arts Council. Her work has received prizes from the Texas State Fair, Kaufman County Fair, and each of the above artist groups, as well as several others.
Cindy's husband, John, has created an art database which Cindy uses to keep track of her art, where it has shown, what prizes it has earned, to whom it was sold, etc. It is very useful for those who paint and show a lot. He is willing to give it away free to artists who bring a laptop or thumb drive.
