RAL Alternative Space At Texas Roast

RAL is pleased to announce a new alternative gallery space for our members at Texas Roast in Rockwall. Jeff and Meredith Schneider, owners of Texas Roast share our excitement about this wonderful opportunity to encourage and promote the arts and Art League members.

Exhibit Rules

Eligibility
All current members of RAL are eligible to enter. New members are welcome and must join at the time of image submission.

All media and artistic disciplines EXCEPT-free standing or pedestal based sculpture, film/video or craft. All work must be original, completed in the last 5 years and ready to hang. No saw tooth hangers, no unfinished work or frames that are in disrepair. Gallery “wrapped” canvas are allowed without framing as long as the edges are finished in an appropriate manner. Any work that is selected from a photographic image and then is found not comply with the guidelines, will not be admitted into the exhibit.

Entry Process
Submit up to 3 jpeg images at least 72 dpi to artventuresstudio@sbcglobal.net by August 25th 2008
Indicate size, sales price, medium and title of each piece submitted.

There is no fee to submit entries, however if your entry is selected, the fee is $10 for each piece. Exhibits will run for a 3 month period.

Review Committee
Jeff and Meredith Schneider and a member of the community at large (non Art League Member) will select the works for exhibit each quarter. The Review Committee’s decision will be final.

Sale of Work
All work should be for sale. Texas Roast and The Art League will assist with the transaction process and notify the artist that the work has sold. Sold work may be taken by the patron after payment is secure. Work sold and released to purchaser, may be replaced by the artist upon approval of the Review Committee and an additional $10 fee for each piece replaced.

Commission/Fees
The Rockwall Art League will take a 10% commission from each piece sold. The commission and the exhibit fees will offset the cost of the hanging system and credit processing fees. Texas Roast will not accept a commission from works sold during the exhibit.

Insurance
The utmost care will be made in handling the art work. However, the Rockwall Art League and/or Texas Roast assumes no responsibility for work that becomes lost, stolen or damaged. The work is not insured by Texas Roast nor the Rockwall Art League. Insurance is the responsibility of the individual artists.

Publicity
All images selected for the exhibit can/will be used for promotion and or publicity purposes for the Rockwall Art League, Texas Roast and the individual artist.

Submission of your artwork constitutes an understanding and acceptance of the rules for exhibit entry.
